West Coast has placed inaugural Eagle McKenzie Dowrick on its inactive player list ahead of season 2021.
In consultation with Dowrick and her family, the club decided it was best for the classy defender to be given the appropriate time to recover from a surgical procedure that has resulted in ongoing complications.
Head of female football Adam Selwood said Dowrick’s health and wellbeing was at the forefront of the decision.
“The club completely understands and respects the need for McKenzie to take additional time to focus on her health,” Selwood said.
“We look forward to supporting her through this process to ensure she is ready for the 2022 AFLW season and the next stages of her life.”
