What do injured players do when they’re not available to play?

Cheers from the stands, of course.

And that’s exactly what two-time John Worsfold medallist Elliot Yeo will be doing at the Gabba tonight while his teammates attempt to keep West Coast’s top four dreams alive by claiming a win against St Kilda.

Yeo told 96FM’s Botica’s Bunch panel that he was excited to see the game unfold at the 2020 grand final venue.

“We’re all going to take the trip up to the Gabba and we’ll be loud in the stands as well,” Yeo said of the Eagles' walking wounded.

“It’s going to be a good game. The Saints have been playing some good football and they’re really exciting. They’ve got some good young players coming through and we’re going to show off our young players as well.

“Regardless of the conditions (up to 10mm rain is forecast to fall in Brisbane tonight), I still think it’s going to be a good game. We really need to win to cement our spot in the finals and to also try to get top four.”

Yeo also provided a brief update on his health, telling the radio program that he was doing everything in his power to overcome the groin injury that had sidelined him for the past six weeks.

The 26-year-old said he was aiming to be available for the club’s round 18 clash with North Melbourne.

“We’ll have to wait and see now that the fixture is released for round 18 and we’re playing North (Melbourne) at the start (of next week),” Yeo said.

“It’s a quick turnaround, so we’ll have to wait and see.

“I’ve got training this week and hopefully I can get the work and the fitness into me.”
