A rocking year
Season 2011 was successful on and off the field, with West Coast visiting classrooms across WA
The Eagles Rock My School program, proudly supported by the club’s principal community partner BHP Billiton, enjoyed another fantastic year in 2011, with players and staff visiting students right across the state.
The Eagles Rock My School program involves a presentation to schools by Eagles Rock My School staff and everybody’s favourite mascot, Rick the Rock Eagle.
Schools then receive a follow-up visit by a West Coast Eagles player for a football clinic or reading clinic - and this year the reading clinics featured an exciting new Interactive Whiteboard resource with Sally Carbon’s book ‘I Want To Be A Footballer’. Every school received a free copy of the book and the related Interactive Whiteboard material, as well as a free signed Eagles football.
Each semester, every school that completes the Eagles Rock My School survey after their visit goes in to the draw to win one of two signed Eagles jumpers.
West Coast Eagles inaugural captain Ross Glendinning drew last semester’s winning entries at club headquarters yesterday, with Louise Chapman from Dunsborough PS and Hayley Taylor from Cunderdin DHS each scoring themselves a signed West Coast guernsey.
