A host of West Coast stars are getting ready to take your calls this Sunday as the 2010 Telethon Weekend gets set to kick off at 6:30pm tomorrow at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Eagles Nic Naitanui, Daniel Kerr, Brett Jones, Luke Shuey, Brad Ebert, Mark Nicoski, Will Schofield and Chris Masten will join local celebrities in the phone room, with Naitanui also getting the once-in-a-lifetime privilege of officially closing the event on Sunday night with John Travolta.
Naitanui said he was excited to meet the actor and be a part of the event.
‘I’ll be in the phone room with the boys throughout most of Sunday so I’m looking forward to taking calls from a few West Coast fans.
‘Being asked to close the weekend with Travolta was a huge surprise but I’m definitely looking forward to meeting him,’ he said.
The 26-hour continuous broadcast will be on Channel 7 throughout Perth and on the Golden West Network throughout Western Australia as this year’s event hopes to raise more than $6 million to finally reach the $100 million milestone Telethon has been aiming for since 1968.
The Telethon Weekend event has grown to be recognised as not only the most significant television charity appeal, but also as the most successful fundraising event per capita in the world.
The players are scheduled to appear in the phone room from 12:00pm-3:00pm on Sunday so call up, get behind a great cause and speak to your favourite Eagle!
