The West Coast Eagles and hundreds of Darren Glass inflatable guernseys have helped raise almost $30,000 for the children at Princess Margaret Hospital.
The campaign, supported by the club and Toyota WA, saw one hundred PMH Foundation volunteers out in full force around Subiaco Oval on Friday, May 2 selling the guernseys, which supporters used to show their support for their team and PMH patients.
Stitches the Bear also made an appearance by walking around the ground and waving to all his friends in the crowd!
PMH Foundation is one of the Eagles chosen charities in 2008. As well as fundraising, the players also regularly visit patients in the hospital providing some much-needed distraction and smiles.
The $25,000 raised this year will help fund a patient cooling machine for the Intensive Care Unit. The cooling machine is a sophisticated heating/cooling device that allows accurate manipulation of the body temperature of critically ill children.
