Young guns Ella Roberts, Bella Lewis, Charlie Thomas and Beth Schilling have been selected in the AFL Players’ Association’s 22Under22 extended squad for 2024.
The 22Under22, presented by Torrens University Australia, is a fan-voted team that recognises the best 22 players in the League aged 22 and under for the season.
Elite all-rounder Roberts has been a standout this year, the 19-year-old smashing career and club records and being named in the League’s Team-Of-The-Week an impressive four times.
Emerging defender Schilling has had a break-out season, earning herself the Week Two Rising Star nomination, and developing in leaps and bounds as the weeks progressed.
Reigning Club Champion Thomas continued where she left off last season, nullifying some of the most dangerous key forwards in the competition and solidifying herself as one of the most talented defenders in the competition.
Co-vice-captain Lewis had a consistently excellent season, leading from the front through the Eagles’ engine room, averaging a career-high 19.8 disposals, and finishing the season with a career-high five goals.
These exciting young players are in the running for the final 22Under22 team and need your help!
Voting is now open for fans on the 22Under22 platform and closes at 11:59pm (AEST) on November 13.
The final team will be announced on November 20.
