West Coast star midfielder Matt Priddis took some time out last Friday to help an important cause as he made his way to Perth’s Hyatt Regency and attended the inaugural Special Olympics Sportman’s Lunch.
Hosted by The Western Front’s Tim Gossage and Lachy Reid, the aim of the event was to raise funds to assist Western Australia’s athletes and create public awareness of the Special Olympics.
Priddis said he felt privileged to be a part of the event.
‘It’s a great event for a really important cause and has helped raise awareness for the fantastic work Special Olympics Australia does,’ Priddis said.
WA’s State Development Manager for Special Olympics Australia, Di Bruce, thanked Matt for his involvement.
‘His presence on the day had a huge impact on our Special Olympic athletes. He will be the talk of the town for the next twelve months on the softball diamond and at the bowling alley,’ she said.
Special Olympics is a not-for-profit organisation that transforms the lives of people with an intellectual disability through regular sports participation and competition.
