Perth’s biggest fundraising event, Telethon, is hitting the Perth Convention & Exhibition Centre this weekend.

As the most successful televised charity event in the world, Telethon raises funds to improve the lives of children and young people throughout Western Australia and has been widely supported by the community since the initiative began in 1968.

This year, West Coast players Daniel Kerr, Sam Butler, Josh Hill and Jacob Brennan will be dropping by the phone rooms to chat to any fans making donations. Mascot Rick the Rock will be joining the boys, making a nuisance of himself as usual.

Be sure to watch Channel 7 or GWN on Sunday, November 11 and call in between 11am and 12pm for your chance to talk to an Eagle.

Members of the West Coast schools team will be out in force on Saturday, November 10 conducting a coaching clinic at the Telethon Kids Carnival. Come along to the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre between 2.30pm and 4.30pm to take part with other Eagles fans.

Supporters can also join the Telethon audience in the theatre at the PCEC for a just a gold coin donation from 9.30pm Saturday night until 5.30pm Sunday evening.

Since inception, Telethon has raised more than $117 million for children’s hospitals, world leading child health research and state of the art medical facilities.

As one of the club’s 2012 charity partners, West Coast supports Telethon throughout the annual weekend event, as well as by raising funds at the Chris Mainwaring Legends Match, proudly presented by BHP Billiton.
