Not only will the West Coast Eagles be competing for four premiership points against Geelong at Skilled Stadium on Saturday, the winning side will also claim the United Way Perpetual Charity Shield.

Currently housed in Geelong, the shield was created in 2003 and recognises United Way as a charitable partner of both clubs.

The West Coast Eagles has supported United Way for over 10 years and this year, through United Way's Sports Charity Program, Diabetes Australia WA and Foodbank WA will benefit from the relationship.

West Coast Eagles General Manager of Marketing Deane Pieters is pleased that the club's relationship with United Way continues to strengthen.

"The West Coast Eagles has a long-standing partnership with United Way and we're thrilled that it extends to the field of play," Mr Pieters said.

"We look forward to continuing that wonderful relationship through our support of Diabetes Australia WA and Foodbank WA in season 2006."
