The West Coast Eagles Football Club will be out and about in the rural towns of Karratha and Port Hedland in the Pilbara region from Wednesday, February 4 as part of the 2009 Telstra AFL Community Camp program.

The annual camps have proved to be hugely successful for both the football club and the communities involved since the program began in 2003, providing a rare opportunity for West Coast fans to meet their heroes before the season proper gets underway.

Approximately 20 players will be in attendance including crowd favourites Daniel Kerr, Beau Waters and Adam Hunter, as well as new recruits Nic Naitanui, Ashley Smith and Jordan Jones.

Members of the squad will arrive in Karratha on Wednesday morning and will kick the visit off with trips to local schools. The club will then be officially welcomed to the town at a mayoral reception.

Later that evening, the community will have the chance to hear from some of the club's brightest stars at a panel night and score some exclusive West Coast giveaways, with all proceeds raised from the event going directly to the North Pilbara Football League.

After some additional school visits the following day, the squad will set off for Port Hedland, arriving at approximately 2.30pm on Thursday. The town will host a civic reception which will be followed up with another panel night for the local Port Hedland community.

The boys will head back to school on Friday morning before returning to Perth later that afternoon.

A "Kick in the Street" competition will also be run in both towns, with two Eagles players paying a special visit to the lucky winners and playing kick to kick in their neighbourhood.
