Aaron Hinkley from Karratha is amongst the members patiently waiting for seated membership, with his unwavering commitment earning the teenager the Member of the Round prize for round four.
“Aaron is 14 years old and loves footy, he can tell us stats for the players and enjoys watching the games,” Aaron’s mother Megan wrote to the club.
“We are coming down for the 20th of April game and I would love to see my son really benefit from this game and be Member of the Round, as we don’t get to go to many games and I think it would be special for him.”
The Hinkley family travelled 17 hours by car to attend the Carlton match, with Aaron believing many West Coast fans in Pilbara as just as passionate.
“With Dean Cox originating from the Dampier area there are a lot of supporters from the area,” Aaron said.
“The atmosphere of being at the game motivates us to make the long trip.”
As In The Wings members, the Hinkley family are eagerly awaiting the new stadium and looking forward to securing a permanent seat to West Coast games.
“We have been members for four years and we signed up in the hope that we will have season passes by the time we move back to Perth if we ever do,” Megan said.
“What we’re looking forward to the most with the new stadium is more seats being available so there is a better chance of game tickets for more supporters.”
Aaron is looking forward to watching the West Coast Eagles progress and remains positive for the year ahead.
“My hopes are that we make the finals and do well,” Aaron said.
