Naitanui, Ellis ready for round one
Nic Naitanui on track for selection next week after practice match
Naitanui played 50 minutes in the Eagles' practice match win over Fremantle last week.
Just nine days out from the Eagles' season opener against the Western Bulldogs, he managed three-and-a-half quarters against East Perth at Patersons Stadium.
The 2012 All Australian started on the ball but did some ruck work in the latter stages of the opening term.
He spent plenty of time in the ruck and up forward in the second half.
Only 17 Eagles squad members were made available for the match with the rest of the group participating in an open training session earlier in the afternoon.
Reigning best-and-fairest winner Matt Priddis, Naitanui, and youngster Brant Colledge were the only Eagles to play in both the practice match against the Dockers last Thursday and Friday's game.
Scott Selwood, Xavier Ellis, Will Schofield, Simon Tunbridge, and Sam Butler were the other notables to take part and all gathered plenty of the football.
Ellis looked particularly sharp and fully fit, to round off a very impressive pre-season.
Earlier in the week, Eagles coach Adam Simpson declared the former Hawk a certain starter for round one if he could get through the pre-season without any issues.
