West Coast midfielder Sharrod Wellingham spent his Wednesday behind bars as part of a new campaign designed to raise money for WA PCYC.
“Time4Kids” saw Wellingham share a cell in the Perth CBD with two-Test spinner Ashton Agar to promote the initiatives run by PCYC to stop youth crime through early intervention and community programs, while raising funds to ensure they continue.
The jailbird is calling on West Coast fans to make donations to help him post “bail” and get released from the watchful eye of WA Police.

Surely we footy supporters can raise more money than Ashton Agar's cricket fans!
All donations over $2 are tax deductible and all money raised will help Broome PCYC continue their youth crime prevention programs.
"There's plenty of kids when you grow up that take the wrong path," Wellingham said.
"As the old saying goes, 'idle hands are the devil's playground'.
"This is something that's going to keep kids occupied, and keep their minds occupied."
A national fundraiser, “Time4Kids” calls on local corporate and community leaders to ask their friends, family and business contacts to “bail” them out of the makeshift PCYC jail cell at a minimum cost of $500 bail.
Prisoners can do physical time in mock cells at selected WA PCYC events throughout the state, or they can choose to do “virtual time”.
All inmates are encouraged to raise their bail through a personal fundraising page they can set up online at the “Time4Kids” website.
All bail raised through donations will be used to assist PCYC continue to deliver life-changing programs and initiatives targeted towards at-risk-youth and young offenders, including award-winning youth re-engagement programs such as Weld to Life at Rockingham PCYC and Stepping Stones at Gosnells PCYC.
