The West Coast Eagles are set to square off against four challenging opponents from rounds two to five of the 2020 AFL Premiership season.

The AFL today released its first block of fixtures for the season restart, giving itself ultimate flexibility to adapt to the ever-changing landscape brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

West Coast, who will operate out of a hub located at the Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast, are set to resume their 2020 premiership bid with a round two clash against the Suns at Metricon Stadium on Saturday, June 13.

The Eagles will travel 80km north to face Brisbane at The Gabba in round three (Saturday, June 20) before returning to Metricon Stadium the following week to take on fellow hub-bound club Port Adelaide (Saturday, June 27) in round four.

West Coast intends to round out its stay in the sunshine state with a blockbuster Thursday night bout against reigning premiers Richmond at Metricon Stadium on July 2.

Under current arrangement all of the Eagles’ fixtures - apart from its round five match versus the Tigers - have been deemed away games by the AFL.

It is hoped the Eagles will be able to return to Perth and resume a traditional ‘fly-in, fly-out’ mode of operation at the completion of round five, but that is dependant on changes to the Western Australian Government’s COVID-19 protocols.
