West Coast Eagles superstar didn’t just kick goals on the field in 2016; he’s been kicking goals off it too.
As ambassador for the MS Society of WA, Kennedy has worked tirelessly in the community to bring both awareness and much-needed funding to the cause he holds so closely to his heart.
Kennedy has been with the MS Society of WA for five years now and capped off his terrific work with being awarded the 2016 Eagles in the Community Award at the John Worsfold Medal presentation dinner.
“It’s been an amazing journey, I’ve met so many amazing people along the way,” Kennedy said.
“It’s amazing how much we take life for granted; to be honest it doesn’t feel like we do too much, well I don’t feel like we do enough to get this award.
“There’s a lot more people out there who do a lot more than me.
“The volunteers, especially with the MS Society and the work that they do to raise money to hopefully one day find a cure.
“It’s a bit embarrassing receiving this award but I just want to dedicate it to all the volunteers at the MS Society, they’re the real heroes.”
