The West Coast Eagles squad was spread out across the metropolitan area yesterday, imparting their skills and knowledge to the kids at the 2015 Multicultural Gala Day.
The Multicultural Gala Day is an AFL inclusive event aiming to welcome new players from all backgrounds and skill levels to Aussie Rules Football, with Eagles players heading out to the Tom Bateman Sporting Complex in Thornlie, Morris Buzacott Reserve in Kardinya and MacDonald Park in Padbury.

Throughout the day, participants had the opportunity to enhance their AFL skills and compete in a round robin tournament under the exciting AFL9s format, as well as working on their AFL skills and meeting their favourite West Coast Eagles players.
Nic Naitanui, an Australia Post Multicultural Ambassador, says it was great to see people from different backgrounds taking part.
“Diversity is what we’re preaching here,” he said.
“Players have grown up with Aussie Rules footy, so to teach those who haven’t, what better way to learn than off those guys.
“We’re just teaching the kids some basic skills and letting them play a game of AFL9s, we’re just lucky the rain held off today too!
“There were over 800 students across the three locations this morning, which is a great thing.
“It’s great that AFL football can bring people from different backgrounds together.”
