West Coast Eagles midfielder Luke Shuey has lauded young midfielder Liam Duggan’s maturity after the 18-year-old starred in the Eagles 53-point win over the Saints on Saturday.
Speaking to the West Australian post-game, Shuey says the way he’s handled himself since arriving at the club was commendable.
“He’s going to be pretty special,” Shuey said.
“There’s been a lot of talk about Duggo, but he’s got a great head on his shoulders and he’s a great young kid.
“He goes about everything the right way, so we love playing footy with him.”
At his post match press conference, Eagles coach Adam Simpson suggested Duggan, who had 23 disposals and sent the ball inside the attacking 50 eight times, was worthy of a Rising Star nomination.
West Coast has not had a nomination since Andrew Gaff and Jack Darling five years ago, but Duggan must surely be on the radar of the selection panel.
