The Eagles and SEDA have combined to create the West Coast Eagles Sports Development Program for 2016.
The program is a unique offering, providing students in Years 11 and 12 with the opportunity to combine their passion for football with an exciting education pathway.
Commencing in WA in 2013, SEDA has been at the forefront in providing a hands-on education program embedded in industry. Students have the opportunity to complete Year 11 and 12, undertaking their WACE and nationally recognised VET qualifications in sport and recreation.
As part of the signed agreement, students will have the opportunity to work alongside West Coast Eagles. Students will be involved with the Eagles Rock my School Program, provide match day assistance at home games – facilitating BHP Billiton inflatable activities, event management at Eagles fan and member days and delivery of school and community participation programs with players. Students will also undertake their coaching and officiating qualifications.
The West Coast Eagles Sports Development Program will empower students to pursue meaningful pathways upon completion of Year 12. With a strong connection to industry, students develop real-world skills providing graduates with the opportunity to gain employment across numerous industries. Students also have the opportunity to articulate into a range of courses at one of SEDA’s university and Registered Training Organisation (RTO) partners.
