Jack Darling set aside pre-season training this week to visit families in the new Ronald McDonald House Perth.
Darling, who has been an ambassador for RMH since 2014, spent the afternoon with his fiancée Courtney playing with the children and talking to families who are staying at the new facility which was opened in December last year.
After 25 years in the previous facility in Subiaco, which offered 18 rooms, the new Nedlands location offers 47 family rooms and can house nearly three times as many people at one time.
Darling said the new facility was superb and he loved spending time with the families and children there.
“It’s great to be able to come here and just spend some time with people who are going through tough times,” Darling said.
“The new house is awesome; it has brought a new level of comfort to everyone staying here for sure.
“Most people stay here for a few weeks, but unfortunately some stay for much longer and to know that they will be more comfortable in the new house in fantastic.
“As sad as it is that the kids here are going through a tough time, I love coming here and spending time with them.
“They have a fantastic outlook on life and are always so happy.”
