The West Coast Eagles and on-field apparel partner Puma recently donated 80 pairs of shoes to children at Cambodia's Sunshine House.

The mix of football boots and running shoes were received with joy by the children of Sunshine House, who were visited by a group of West Coast Eagles players in November 2015.

Sunshine House, located in Cambodia's Kompong Speu province, is managed by Eagles devotee and Awareness Cambodia chief executive Gary Hewett.

The project is committed to providing children with necessary resources and education to become future leaders and professionals in the recently war-torn nation.

Josh Hill and Mark Hutchings both visited Sunshine House last year and were thrilled to hear of the club and Puma’s recent donation,

“Visiting Cambodia was a life-changing experience,” Hutchings said.

“The kids at Sunshine House don’t have much and will love these boots. It’s great that Puma could help out. They will certainly put plenty of smiles on faces”

Hewett said it was impossible to understate the happiness everyday items would bring to the children at Sunshine House.

“These sorts of things – shoes and footy boots – that we take for granted in Australia are invaluable to the kids,” he said.

“They love playing soccer and have all become Eagles fans. It’s going to be like Christmas for them.

“We have to thank the West Coast Eagles and Puma for making this possible. The impact will be profound.”
