West Coast Eagle utility Brent Staker called for the schools of Perth to get behind Landcare Australia yesterday in the lead up to World Environment Day on June 5.

The ‘Your planet needs you campaign’ which launched yesterday, with the help of Staker and his partner and ironwoman Candice Falzon, calls for the people of Perth to do what they can to help the environment.

Staker was one of the many celebrities supporting this cause including Carson Kressley from Queer Eye for a Straight Guy, model Erin McNaught, surfers Layne Beachley and Jay Davies as well as bands including The Living End and Gyroscope.

The campaign is asking people to get involved by registering online at www.yourplanetneedsyou.com.au to go onto the draw for a trip for two to Fraser Island staying at the Kingfisher Bay Eco Resort, where for every person who registers, Spicer’s Paper will donate two dollars.

Staker would also like to see people of Perth wear blue on June 5 to show support for our environment and is calling on the schools of Perth to get involved in an initiative at Kings Park.

“Kids are really the key to tomorrow and so I want the schools of Perth to become involved and come along to the huge EcoMachine event running on June 5 at Kings Park,” said Staker.
