Some well-known faces of Australian sport are combining their profiles and business acumen to help people in the community who are struggling with day-to-day life.
Recently retired Australian cricket all-rounder Mitch Johnson and former West Coast and Collingwood midfielder Chad Morrison have teamed up to support and raise awareness about people battling anxiety and depression.
Since stepping away from senior football after 148 games with West Coast and a further 15 with the Pies, Morrison has been building a budding business empire with wife Natalie.
The Morrisons, largely through the drive of Natalie, have created a sports luxe clothing brand and in conjunction with Johnson are aiming to break down the stigma and raise awareness about depression and anxiety through their Not Alone campaign, #notaloneteam.
The #notaloneteam social media campaign is encouraging people to take a selfie while wearing their sunglasses upside down to symbolise how it feels when people’s worlds are flipped on its head due to the struggles of living with depression and anxiety
The philanthropic trio have also launched a range of Not Alone t-shirts, which will be sold at a discounted price of $49.
Ten dollars from each t-shirt sale will be donated to beyondblue.
The launch of the limited edition Not Alone range will be complemented with the release of a never before seen video featuring Johnson, who talks about the Not Alone campaign and his personal experiences with anxiety and depression.
