The West Coast Eagles is delivering quality education programs to more than 90,000 Western Australian students each year.
These programs engage both primary and high schools, as well as education support centres and education support schools.
West Coast Eagles schools and community development officer Bradd Dalziell said it was important the club’s Eagles Rock My School programs reach as many children as possible.
“It’s important that we are inclusive and reach out to Ed Support Schools and Centres as well as mainstream schools, to ensure all students don’t miss out and get the same involvement and benefit from our quality education programs” Dalziell said.
This year Dalziell visited 17 education support centres and four education support schools.
He said the ERMS programs were modified to suit their audience.
“It’s a privilege to be able to deliver a program to these students and to have such a positive impact on their day is very rewarding.” Dalziell said.
“To ensure the students get the most out of the program, we modify how we deliver our key messages. For example, sometimes we use sign language to communicate to those students who are deaf.
“The students get so excited when they get to meet an Eagles player or Rick the Rock.
“It’s great to see the program brings them a lot of joy and enthusiasm.”
