A no fuss midfielder and bullocking forward were the only Eagles to register AFL Coaches Association Champion Player of the Year Award votes during West Coast’s 13-point win over Melbourne in Alice Springs on Sunday.

Dom Sheed received an equal game high eight votes from senior coaches Adam Simpson and Simon Goodwin for a performance that boasted 34 disposals, 16 contested possessions, eight marks, six inside 50s and one match-sealing goal.

Jack Darling was the other Eagle to catch the eye of the coaches.

He earned seven AFLCA votes for his dominant 16-disposal, nine-mark, four-goal effort against the Demons.

Luke Shuey is still the best placed Eagle to challenge for the illustrious title with 62 votes to his name through 18 rounds.

He trails current leader Tim Kelly by 16 votes with just five games remaining in the home and away season.
