One of the game's premier wingman, Andrew Gaff continued his stellar career with another fine season, arguably his best season, if you go by his numbers. Again the model of consistency, Gaff played 22 games and only registered below 30 disposals on six occasions, and never had less than 27 in a game. He notched up career- best numbers for disposals per game, contested possessions per game, kicks per game, marks per game and clearances per game and will no doubt feature heavily in both the Brownlow Medal count and the John Worsfold Medal voting.
Standout performance: A grand return
Gaff missed the first two rounds of the 2019 season through suspension, but returned in round three for the Eagles’ grand final rematch with Collingwood at the MCG. Wearing the bumps from the Magpies on-field and the jeers from their fans off it, Gaff was everywhere in the Eagles’ 22-point win. Gaff amassed 35 disposals, sent the ball inside 50 four times, had five clearances and was awarded the three Brownlow votes for his performance.
