Three key pillars of the West Coast Eagles squad have recommitted to the club, with Amy Franklin, Jess Hosking and Sarah Lakay signing contract extensions.
Franklin has signed on for two more years until the end of 2026, while Hosking and Lakay have both re-signed until the end 2025.
Franklin is coming off her most successful season in front of goals, finishing the 2024 campaign with seven majors from seven games, three of those kicked in the final game of the season against Sydney.
The key forward has shown she can be a strong marking target for her teammates in the forward line, and her thumping right foot is highly accurate in front of the big sticks.
Fellow forward Hosking played her first season in the blue and gold, immediately making an impact for her new team.
Hosking was elevated into the leadership group shortly after arriving, her maturity and leadership skills resonating with a young and developing Eagles outfit.
Prominent ruck Lakay returned to football after a significant back injury sidelined her for the most-part of the 2023 season, and was influential in her role.
The Swan Districts product is primed for a big season, and at just 21years of age, Lakay has plenty to contribute as she continues to develop her craft.
“Jess joined us last year with a clear desire to bring more experience to the club,” AFLW List Manager Jordan Loxley said.
“We highly value her competitiveness and ability to win crucial contests through her passion and toughness and we’re excited to see her build on last year.
“Amy has been with us for a few years now, and we saw some real growth this year.
“Her improvement in contested marking and ability to kick goals from 50m is a rare and exciting skill set, and we are excited to see her continued development over the next couple of years.
“Sarah has had a tough couple of years with injuries, but towards the end of last season, we saw the real value she can bring to the team.
“With a solid pre-season, we believe she can make a big impact and add plenty to the group.”
