The West Coast Eagles could be set to welcome back a couple of big names against Hawthorn this weekend.

Forward Kellie Gibson missed last week’s loss to Port Adelaide due to workload management following the condensed fixture and will be a test to return against the Hawks.

“Kellie Gibson was a late out on the weekend,” AFLW High Performance Manager Wes Salisbury said.

“We’re just managing her workload out of the condensed fixturing, but if she trains fully this week, she should be available for selection.”

Experienced Eagles recruit Jess Hosking will be a test to return this week, progressing through a quad injury sustained against Collingwood in week four.

Key forward Amy Franklin is proceeding well with her broken finger and looks set to be available against her former side Fremantle in week eight.

“Hosko’ has made really good progress with her quad rehab,” Salisbury said.

“If she gets through training this week, she will be a test for availability.

“Amy is coming back from her broken finger, still another week away and will be looking to be available against Fremantle.”

Defender Sophie McDonald continues to work through concussion protocols following a head knock against Brisbane in week four.

“Sophie McDonald is still making her way back through concussion protocols after subsequent head knocks,” Salisbury said.

“The timeframe around her return is still yet to be decided.”
