In unfortunate news, Sasha Goranova is set to spend some time on the sidelines after sustaining a hamstring injury in last week’s win over the Bulldogs.
“Unfortunately, Sasha came out of the third quarter with a tight hamstring, and didn’t play any further part in the game,” AFLW Head of High Performance Wes Salisbury said.
“She went for scans over here in Melbourne, which confirmed a hamstring strain which will see her miss the next two-to-three weeks.”
Abbygail Bushby has presented with an adductor strain following Thursday night’s game, and will be unavailable for selection against Collingwood.
Exciting new recruit Roxy Roux is progressing with her recovery for a hand injury and will look to be available for selection in the coming weeks.
“With Roxy, her rehab is travelling well,” Salisbury said.
“She looks to still be a week or two away but we’re hopeful she will be available for selection against GWS in week five.”
In mixed news for Sophie McDonald, the defender has passed her concussion protocols, but sustained a wrist injury at training.
“Soph has progressed and passed through all of her concussion protocols and has been signed off on that front,” Salisbury said.
“Sadly, she sustained a wrist injury while spoiling the ball in a training drill on Sunday, and we are awaiting MRI results to determine the damage."
