The West Coast Eagles have made one change to the team ahead of their week three clash with the Western Bulldogs on Thursday night.
Exciting young defender Octavia Di Donato has been named to make her AFLW debut, the seventh Eagles’ debutant so far this season.
Di Donato joined the West Coast Eagles in August as a replacement player for pregnant veteran Dana Hooker who will welcome a baby in December.
The 20-year-old Bendigo Pioneers product has shown her maturity and experience in a leadership role as Carlton’s co-captain in the VFLW.
Di Donato is renowned for her work ethic and ‘never give up’ attitude, her versatility, clean hands and high football IQ.
“Octavia has joined our program as a replacement player and slotted right into the team,” Head of Women’s Football Michelle Cowan said.
“She’s extremely driven to learn and always seeking out coaches for review or extra touch.
“Octavia’s performance in the scrimmage last weekend saw her put her hand up for selection to take on the Bulldogs, and we are rapt for her to make her Eagles debut in her home state in front of her family and friends.”
Di Donato comes into the team for Jayme Harken who has been omitted.
Bouncedown for Thursday night’s clash with the Bulldogs is 7:15pm AEST at Mission Whitten Oval.
