It’s unfortunate news for young midfielder Emily Elkington and experienced defender Sophie McDonald, both unavailable for the Eagles’ week three clash with the Bulldogs.
“With Emily and Sophie, they are both are still working through concussion protocols at their own pace,” AFLW Head of High Performance Wes Salisbury said.
“Unfortunately, this means they will be unavailable this Thursday against the Bulldogs.”
AFLW Injury Update - Week 3
AFLW Head of Strength and Conditioning Wes Salisbury provides an update on West Coast's injured players ahead of their upcoming match against Geelong.
Rising star Ella Roberts came from the ground on Saturday with blood streaming from her nose, but was able to return to the field after receiving medical treatment.
“Ella Roberts had a couple of heavy hits and drew a bit of blood through the nose on the weekend,” Salisbury said.
“There’s no structural damage or delayed concussion symptoms, so she will be ready and available for selection this week.”
