The West Coast Eagles confirm key defender Tom Barrass has today informed the club of his request for a trade.

Barrass submitted his request during today’s exit meeting and nominated Hawthorn as his preferred destination.

The 28-year-old has played 150 games since being drafted by West Coast with pick 43 in 2013, is a John Worsfold medallist (2022), All-Australian squad member and 2018 premiership player.

“Tom has today informed us of his desire to pursue an opportunity at another club,” General Manager Football Gavin Bell said.

“While the club respects Tom’s request, he is contracted for another three seasons and our vice-captain.

“We will endeavour to meet Tom’s request while protecting the best interests of the West Coast Eagles.”

The 2024 Trade Period commences on October 7.
