The AFLW RAC Derby scheduled to be played at Optus Stadium on Saturday, October 19 has been transferred to Sullivan Logistics Stadium (Leederville Oval) due to planned turf redevelopment works at Optus Stadium.
The match has been set down to coincide with the Telethon weekend with the West Coast Eagles and Fremantle coming together to support the State’s biggest charitable event.
With an 11 match AFLW season the Eagles and Dockers play just once and by playing the AFLW RAC Derby at Sullivan Logistics Stadium it provides the best opportunity to maximise attendance and to build on the traditional rivalry.
There will be a number of activations in support of Telethon at the game.
Tickets are now available for members and will be available to the general public at 2pm on Wednesday, August 21.
Mayor Alison Xamon said the City of Vincent was “stoked” to be hosting the AFLW RAC Derby.
"The entire community loved the atmosphere we had during the WAFL Grand Final in 2022 and we want to recreate that experience for the AFLW RAC Derby," Mayor Xamon said.
"We are also improving infrastructure and facilities at Sullivan Logistics Stadium in close partnership with the State Government, AFL, WAFC, Subiaco Football Club and East Perth Football Club.
"Together we are developing WA’s best-located boutique AFL venue for marquee matches like this."
