Experienced West Coast Eagles midfielder Dana Hooker has announced her pregnancy on the first day of the AFLW pre-season.
Hooker, who also has eight-year-old daughter Alice, married her long-term partner Mark Worthington in December last year, and the couple will welcome their first child together in December this year.
The exciting announcement will see Hooker sit out of the 2024 season, but she has expressed her desire to stay involved within in the group and assist the players with their development.

“It’s very exciting, Alice can’t wait to be a big sister,” Hooker said.
“I’m not sure what my role will look like yet for the next 12 months, but I’ll sit down with Daisy and nut that out in the coming weeks.
“I would love to be involved in training where possible, keeping fit on the track and in the gym, and assisting the girls with their development, and possibly get involved in some coaching aspects as well.”
Hooker is one of the club’s most decorated campaigners, having played 58 games at the highest level, 36 of those in the blue and gold.
The 33-year-old is a Club Champion, Club Champion Runner Up and dual All-Australian, and holds a key leadership role within a young and developing Eagles side.
“It’s an exciting announcement and we’re just so happy for Dana, Mark and their growing family,” Head of Women’s Football Michelle Cowan said.
“Dana is so important to our program, but one of the most important roles she plays in life is ‘mum’ and we are over the moon with her announcement.
“Another mother/daughter pick for the future, and no doubt with some good height too!”
