It seems that the tougher the going the more Elliot Yeo thrives.

With much of the game played in tight confines, Yeo was at his best bullocking his way through the congestion as he did everything within his realm to lift the Eagles over the line.

Yeo had 27 possessions and in trademark fashion, 14 of them were contested. He also won eight clearances and sent the ball inside the attacking arc six times. In addition he gained 490 metres for his team with his game-high disposal count.

He developed a quick understanding with ruckman Matt Flynn in his first game and tried to carry the team on his back in the absence of the injured Tim Kelly.

Yeo was complemented by the performances of Dom Sheed, who stood key Saints playmaker Jack Steel, and youngsters Reuben Ginbey and Harley Reid.
