The West Coast Eagles have received positive results from Clay Hall’s ankle scans after the first-year midfielder was injured during Saturday’s intraclub match.
Hall is expected to be available for matches within the next three-to-four weeks.
“Pleasingly, the scans came back with the best possible result for Clay,” General Manager Football Gavin Bell said today.
“He has impressed everybody at the club with his attitude in his first pre-season and we look forward to him being back in action soon.”
Star defender Jeremy McGovern has pulled up well from the intraclub following minor soreness and a decision whether he plays in match simulation against Fremantle this Saturday will be made later in the week.
Speedster Jamaine Jones is likely to line-up coming off a hip complaint, but tall defender Harry Edwards will be unavailable after sustaining a broken finger during the intraclub.
“Harry will undergo surgery and we will know more about his return-to-play timeframe after the operation, but he will be able to continue his conditioning program while his finger heals,” Bell said.
There is more promising news on the availability front, with key forward Jack Darling (hamstring) on track to play in the club’s official pre-season match against Adelaide.
Elijah Hewett (foot), Dom Sheed (foot) and Liam Ryan (hamstring) are progressing well on their paths back to playing, and Josh Rotham (groin) is pushing to play match minutes next weekend.
Third-year defender Rhett Bazzo will miss a period of time while he is de-loaded from training to manage groin soreness.
Tickets for Saturday’s match simulation against the Dockers at Mineral Resources Park are sold out, but the clash will be streamed live on Kayo.
