The West Coast Eagles completed their final intra-club hit-out in front of an enthusiastic legion of supporters as part of a fan day at Mineral Resources Park today.
The throng of Eagles faithful would have enjoyed what they saw.
In the first of three periods the probables lined up against the possibles and dominated play.
They cleared the ball consistently out of the middle, capitalising on the exquisite ruck work of GWS recruit Matt Flynn who offered first service to the likes of Elliot Yeo and Tim Kelly.
Jamie Cripps made a lively start with three goals while Oscar Allen, Ryan Maric and Jack Petruccelle were also threatening. Down back Jeremy McGovern controlled the air and Jayden Hunt produced electrifying run.
For the possibles Campbell Chesser was eye-catching through the midfield while Next Generation Academy prospect Tyrell Dewar continued to build on a strong body of work through the pre-season.
The teams were a more even blend in the second period, but many of the same players prominent. Yeo, Kelly, Flynn and Jake Waterman were all under notice.
Maric was in good touch up forward while Liam Duggan had plenty of the ball in the back half and Noah Long, Reuben Ginbey and Tyler Brockman, who relished some midfield minutes, also worked their way into the game.
Bailey Williams was involved in a couple of strong contests while Harvey Johnston was impressive at times. The Flynn-Williams combination continues to grow with both competing hard on ball and up forward.
Unfortunately young midfielder Clay Hall hurt an ankle and was assisted from the ground by medical staff. He will be sent for scans to assess the extent of the injury.
