Star goalkicker Jack Darling potentially joining retired champion Shannon Hurn as the only Eagles to reach the 300-game mark headlines the milestones to watch for in 2024.
Needing just 14 appearances next season to leapfrog previous games record holder Dean Cox (290 matches), Darling is also a chance of notching a triple-century in the final round at Geelong with an injury-free run.
Premiership skipper Hurn became the first Eagle to scale the landmark in 2021 and finished his decorated career last season on 333 games for the club.
Darling’s close mate Andrew Gaff is just one appearance behind club great Glen Jakovich (276), who sits in fourth spot, and is also within sight of a podium-place on the all-time games list.
Darling kicked his 500th career goal last season against Richmond and is set to pass Peter Sumich (514) with another five majors to his name, assuming second-place behind Josh Kennedy (712).
Their long-time sidekick Jamie Cripps could become the sixth Eagle to notch 300 goals with another 32 straight kicks – roughly the pace he went at in 2023 with 16 goals from 12 games during an injury-hit campaign.
The hard-running forward can overtake 2006 premiership powerhouse Quinten Lynch (281) with another 14 goals to move up to sixth spot overall but has a way to go to catch Phil Matera (389) or Mark LeCras (441).
Key defender and 2022 John Worsfold medallist Tom Barrass is closing in on life membership with only 18 games to go to reach 150 appearances.
Barrass is currently level with incoming CEO Don Pyke on 132 matches in blue and gold.
A cluster of ‘middle-age’ players are eyeing 100 games for the club, with Tom Cole (90), Liam Ryan (89), Jake Waterman (84 and 79 goals) and co-captain Oscar Allen (82) within sight.
Big man Bailey Williams (49), ex-Cats speedster Jamaine Jones (48) and former Lions backman Alex Witherden (44) lead the next crop heading towards 50 appearances for the club.
