West Coast Eagles forward Kate Bartlett has announced her retirement from AFLW, while Krstel Petrevski and Ella Smith have been informed they won’t be offered contracts for the 2024 season.
Bartlett was drafted by the Western Bulldogs in 2018, before making her AFLW debut in the final round of the 2019 season.
The Peel Thunder product joined West Coast ahead of the 2020 season, playing 16 games in the blue and gold and slotting six goals over her time at the club.
Petrevski arrived at the Eagles ahead of season seven after spending three seasons with Melbourne.
The Halls Creek local played six games for West Coast, before a serious ankle injury saw her moved to the inactive list for the 2023 season.
Smith was signed by the Eagles as a mature-aged player in 2022, making her AFLW debut in season seven.
The 2021 Dhara Kerr Medallist and former Claremont Tigers captain played five games for the club over two seasons.
Head of Women’s Football Michelle Cowan said all three players have had an impact on the club.
“Kate made an incredible contribution to our football club, and we wish her all the very best in her retirement and for her next chapter,” Cowan said.
“’KP’ and Ella are both outstanding individuals who have impacted the organisation both on and off the field, and we hope will continue to be a part of our club in the future.
“All three players set the benchmark when it comes to people and characters that you want within your football club, and we thank them for everything they brought to the team.”
As the AFLW Sign and Trade period deadline approaches (11am WST on Thursday), the club can confirm midfielder Shanae Davison and defender Eleanor Hartill have requested trades.
