West Coast Eagles champion and 2018 Norm Smith medallist Luke Shuey has been named on the panel to select the best player afield in tomorrow’s Grand Final between Collingwood and Brisbane.

The recently-retired midfielder will cast his 3-2-1 votes as part of a five-member panel voting on the 2023 Norm Smith Medal, which will be presented by West Coast's 2005 medallist Chris Judd.

The panel will be chaired by ex-Western Bulldogs ruckman Luke Darcy and includes mercurial former Carlton and Adelaide star Eddie Betts, ex-Swans great Jude Bolton and AFL Media journalist Sarah Olle.

Shuey produced one of the all-time great Grand Final performances to claim the medal in 2018’s epic win over Collingwood that clinched the Eagles’ fourth flag.

The then 28-year-old racked up 34 disposals, with 19 contested possessions, nine clearances, eight tackles, eight inside 50s, two goal assists and a goal in the five-point victory, sealed by Dom Sheed’s unforgettable major from the boundary.

Meanwhile, Eagles defender Josh Rotham will represent the club in the Grand Final Sprint pre-game at the MCG.
