West Coast defender Evie Gooch is expected to be available for Friday night’s battle with Port Adelaide at Mineral Resources Park.
Gooch sustained a substantial knock to the ribs in Sunday’s game against Sydney but avoided any serious damage.
“Evie Gooch, she got a heavy knock in the game,” AFLW Head of High Performance Wes Salisbury said.
“She was assessed on the sidelines but managed to return to the game.
“We expect her to be available for this weekend against Port Adelaide.”
Sarah Lakay was unavailable for the Sydney trip and continues to recover from an aggravated pars defect in her back.
“Sarah with her aggravated back, she will continue through rehab this week and will look to be available against GWS in a fortnight," Salisbury said.
Young midfielder Emily Elkington is progressing through concussion protocols, after a head knock in round three against Carlton.
“Emily with her concussion, she’s progressing really well through the stages and will look to be available against GWS," Salisbury said.
Eleanor Hartill has returned to main training after a concussion in round two against Gold Coast.
“Eleanor has continued through her concussion protocols and looks to be available this weekend against Port Adelaide if she gets through main training this week," Salisbury said.
