They're premiership team mates and close friends so it only took a little convincing from Josh Kennedy to get Mark LeCras away from his beloved Cervantes to play for Northampton in the Great Northern Football League this weekend.
The duo are teaming up for a good cause, the Josh Kennedy Foundation Cup which will donate money raised from the game against Towns to registrations for Auskickers in the Midwest region.
The match will be played at Wonthella Oval and will be followed by a WAFL league game featuring East Fremantle and Peel Thunder.
With 441 goals in his glittering career, Mark LeCras apparently didn't come cheaply.
"Yeah he busted the salary cap, we've had to fly him up, he's staying in the penthouse," Kennedy jokes to SEN WA Breakfast.
Kennedy admits he hasn't had a massive block of training but he's hoping to stay close to the sanctuary of the goal square.
"I have had a bit of a run around and a kick, couple of runs here and there, not overly much but I don't think I'll be leaving the square."
Joking aside, the cause to help young footballers with registration fees is another positive initiative the champion Eagle has taken on under his growing organisation, the JK Foundation.
"All the money we raise go towards the GNFL junior clubs and hopefully pay for all of the registrations for the junior kids for next year," Kennedy said.
