West Coast has added pace and midfield depth by including Jack Petruccelle and Xavier O’Neill for Sunday’s Gather Round clash against reigning premier Geelong.

Called up for their first games since the round one loss to North Melbourne, the Eagles pair join Alex Witherden returning to the side.

Witherden missed the loss to Melbourne due to concussion protocols, while last week’s sub Josh Rotham is the other inclusion into the starting 22 for the Cats bout.

Veteran defender Shannon Hurn (managed) won’t make the trip to Adelaide, despite training strongly on Thursday, and Tom Cole is facing a stint on the sidelines due to an ankle issue that requires more investigation.

Exciting draftee Elijah Hewett will play for the WAFL Eagles against West Perth in a bid to build his midfield minutes and form, with Connor West also omitted.

West remains a chance to be named the sub, along with fellow emergencies Zane Trew, Luke Foley and Harry Edwards.
