The West Coast Eagles are set to ramp up their round one preparations by facing off against both South Australian clubs at Mineral Resources Park in pre-season hit-outs.

Match simulation against Port Adelaide has been confirmed for Friday, February 24, with bouncedown at 4.40pm.

The Power clash will be played over six periods - four periods of 28 minutes and two periods of 20 minutes, with no time on. Broadcast and venue access arrangements will be announced in due course.

A week later, the Eagles will host Adelaide – also beginning at 4.40pm – on Friday, March 3 in a practice match, which will be broadcast on Fox Footy and streamed on Kayo.

The Crows match will replicate a home and away game across four quarters.

West Coast coach Adam Simpson was appreciative of the idea of taking on different opposition during pre-season after doubling-up against Fremantle in recent years due to border restrictions.

“I think next year we’ll head over there (South Australia) for a week and play the two Adelaide sides, and that will work really well for a couple of years I would’ve thought,” Simpson said.

“Appreciate the fact that we can play different teams and have a different look for pre-season.”
