West Coast’s PMH Foundation ambassadors Mark Nicoski and Matt Rosa pulled on their walking shoes as they took part in the John Hughes Big Walk on October 31, helping to raise money for vital cancer services at Princess Margaret Hospital as well as other important Rotary projects.

Initiated in 1996 by the Rotary Club of Mosman Park, The Big Walk encourages people of all ages and abilities to exercise together while raising awareness and funds for an important cause.

Over 4,500 people participated in this year’s event choosing to walk 6km, 11km or the more challenging distance of 15km.

Nicoski, who participates in a number of PMH Foundation events and visits throughout the year, said the day was a fun way to get behind the work of PMH and support valuable cancer research at the children’s hospital.

‘It’s great to see so many people out here today taking part and doing their bit to help improve the lives of those kids at PMH who are currently receiving treatment for cancer,’ he said.

The West Coast Eagles and the PMH Foundation formed an official partnership in 2005 and since then the club has been able to raise over $170,000 for sick and injured kids in Western Australia.
