A group of teenage West Coast Eagles members had the opportunity of a lifetime last week, when they attended the Eagles Rising Stars Tour & Training event at Mineral Resources Park.

The first half of the event saw the group take part in an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the club’s administration and training facility, with the chance to visit areas of the club not usually accessible to the public.

Commencing in the reception area, the group heard a brief history of the club’s move to the facility in Lathlain, as well as viewing the four premiership cups that take pride of place in the lobby.

The tour then moved into the Sensory Theatre, giving the members a glimpse of the space used for club press conferences.

After a brief stop to view some memorabilia, the tour moved onto the Football department area, with the Rising Stars having an exclusive peek at the gym, swimming pool and indoor training facility used by their favourite footy players.

The group then made their way to the oval where inaugural club champion, Steve Malaxos, was waiting to deliver a 40-minute training session.

The members were put through their paces on the very same oval where their sporting heroes train, before wrapping up the event with a door prize draw, which saw two lucky members take home a signed guernsey and cap.

Rising Stars membership is now available for 2023 and are the perfect option for Eagles fans aged 12-17 years. Learn more here or contact the West Coast Eagles Membership Team on (08) 9388 4566.
