West Coast skipper Emma Swanson and young gun Charlie Thomas have been nominated for the Toyota Mark of the Year after some spectacular catches at Optus Stadium.

Emma Swanson

Swanson was one of the biggest contributors in the RAC Derby totalling 20 disposals, four tackles and three marks.

Late in the fourth quarter Swanson reached out and took a clutch mark, delivered by Imahra Cameron, in the forward pocket.

The skipper showed composure to take a stunning overhead mark giving her the chance to tie up the game with five minutes left on the clock.

Charlotte Thomas

Young halfback Charlie Thomas has been consistently building and delivering week on week, showing her growing confidence at the level.

Early in the fourth quarter Thomas proved once again that she’s got star power, stopping a Fremantle attack with an impressive one-hander in a contest opposed to Gabby O’Sullivan.

As impressive as the key grab was, its part to play in the game was more important, halting a crucial Fremantle attack that kept the Eagles within reaching distance in the final term.
