It was an up and down year for the versatile tall, who was in and out of the senior team and managed 13 appearances.
Rotham started the season at the top level but missed round two due to the AFL Health and Safety Protocols, before slotting back into he team for a string of heavy losses when the defence was under the pump against Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.
After playing in the round 15 win over Essendon, Rotham was used in a different role at both WAFL level – where the team lacked height – and also in the AFL when he played as a mobile ruck.
The experiment bore fruit in round 19 against the Saints when he kicked the only two goals of his career to date.
Standout performance: Pitching in as a pinch-hitter
Atter some encouraging performances in the WAFL playing in the ruck, Rotham was called up in round 19 to partner Bailey Williams against St Kilda and produced his best game for the season.
Match committee were keen to experiment on the run home and Rotham was a key beneficiary, making the most of more opportunity around the ball and getting dangerous in attack.
Normally a defender, Rotham hadn’t kicked a goal in his previous 43 games but slotted two majors – including a 45m set shot – and gathered 14 disposals with seven marks as a mobile back-up ruck.
