West Coast Eagles forward Jake Waterman will miss the season finale in Geelong after undergoing knee surgery.
Waterman has managed right knee soreness and played with strapping in the second half of the season.
“Jake has been troubled by his knee but continued putting his hand up to play and has been a strong contributor in the back half of the year,” Football Manager Gavin Bell said.
“Unfortunately, his knee got to the point where it was becoming more restrictive and it was necessary to send Jake for surgery.”
Waterman kicked a personal best 18 goals in a career-high 20 matches this season, including two as the medi-sub.
