The West Coast Eagles have been handed an exciting fixture for the new AFLW season, including a round one home clash with expansion side Port Adelaide and Thursday night RAC Derby against crosstown rival Fremantle during AFL Grand Final week.

Starting in the pre-AFL finals bye weekend, season four in the AFLW competition for the Eagles will kick-off at home against the Power on Saturday, August 27 at Mineral Resources Park.

West Coast will also feature in several primetime clashes, beginning with the Dockers battle under lights at Optus Stadium, two days before the men’s Grand Final.

Subsequent rounds include Friday night meetings against Hawthorn (Skybus Stadium, Frankston) and Richmond (MRP).

Another highlight includes hosting Essendon at Mineral Resources Park in week one of Indigenous Round in round three.

Pride Round will be staged in round eight, when the Eagles face Geelong at IKON Park in Melbourne.

Round 10 of the competition will be a floating fixture, with the Eagles set to fly to face the Demons at Casey Fields in the last weekend of October.

Top draft pick Ella Roberts could debut in round one against Port Adelaide

“We’re introducing more double-headers, with back-to-back games across both women’s and men’s played on Friday nights throughout the season,” AFL Executive General Manager Finance, Clubs and Broadcasting Travis Auld said.

“The Saturday games throughout September will be floating times, enabling double-header fixtures during the AFL Final Series in the men’s competition.

“We’re doing everything we can to give AFLW fans the best experience and opportunity to support their favourite team,”

All matches will be broadcast live on the Seven Network, Fox Footy, Kay and the Official AFL app, womens.afl and the Official AFLW app.
