Despite his ever-growing popularity and the hype that surrounds him, West Coast ruckman Nic Naitanui still manages to find time to give back to the community.
In the lead up to last week’s Multicultural Round match, Naitanui took a group of budding young footballers on a tour of the West Coast Eagles clubrooms last Friday.
The youngsters were part of the Edmund Rice Little League and Multicultural Auskick teams who played on Patersons Stadium during the half time break at Saturday’s West Coast v Gold Coast clash.
Naitanui, who is an AFL Multicultural Ambassador, gave the young footballers a behind the scenes look in to the club to get them familiar with the stadium before they got to run out on to the ground on Saturday night.
“It’s great doing this stuff, the kids get so excited to see the club,” Naitanui said.
“I love seeing the looks on their faces when we take them through and show them everything, it’s really special.
“If this sparks their interest in the sport and they go on to start playing a game they love, then that’s a great result.”
